This new singer/songwriter is down-to-earth and plainly beautiful. I love her style, and when I heard her hit song, "The Way I Am" - sounding just her voice and guitar, I was breathtaken. The real-life lyrics about buying Rogaine for her lover losing his hair and how she loves how he calls her "baby" and how "he takes her just the way she is" really hits home for many of us and we can instantly relate to Ingrid Michaelson. Her sophomore album, Boys and Girls, finally acquired her a summer headlining tour and cemented her starlet-status as a gorgeous airy, light, acoustic singer with a big heart.
The Way I Am
If you were falling, then I would catch you.
You need a light, I'd find a match.
Cuz I love the way you say good morning.
And you take me the way I am.
If you are chilly, here take my sweater.
Your head is aching, I'll make it better.
Cuz I love the way you call me baby.
And you take me the way I am.
I'd buy you Rogaine if you start losing all your hair.
Sew on patches to all you tear.
Cuz I love you more than I could ever promise.
And you take me the way I am.
You take me the way I am.
You take me the way I am.
